About us

The name `Bible Christian` has an historical connection in Devon and Cornwall where the Bible Christian Churches

were started and although most of them eventually  merged with the Methodist Church

we decided to take the name as it states what we are...

A Bible-believing group of Christians.

The present church was built in 1824 but there has been an independent, protestant, dissenting congregation

and meeting house in Tregony since 1750

Our Vision

That Jesus Christ is central in all we do and in all we are,

and under His Lordship we grow in our love for God and a love for people.

That we are loving, caring, forgiving, dedicated to fellowship, unity and sound teaching.

That we pray fervently, feel compassionately, worship enthusiastically,

give generously, serve unselfishly and live triumphantly.

That through the teaching of the Word of God and by the working of His Holy Spirit

many will come to experience the love and life of God within them.

Statement of Faith - What we Believe.

The Rev. Ian Livingstone is an ordained Baptist minister and former Navy chaplain.

As the minister of Tregony Bible Christian Church

I believe, preach and teach the five basic truths which the Biblical Scholar, J.I.Packer outlines

as the foundation principles of the Christian faith.

They are as follows:

1. Almighty God has spoken to humankind, and the Bible is His written word,

given to us to show the way back to Him, which is called the way of salvation.

2. Almighty God is Lord and King over His world; He rules all things for His own glory,

displaying His perfections in all He does, in order that the angels,

men and women and angels may worship and adore Him.

3. Almighty God is Saviour, active in sovereign love through the Lord Jesus Christ

to rescue believers from the guilt and power of sin, to adopt them as His children

and to bless them according to His purposes.

4. Almighty God is Triune. There are within the Godhead three Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The work of salvation is one in which all three act together;

the Father purposing salvation, the Son securing it and the Holy Spirit applying it.

5. Godliness, meaning holiness, is obtained by totally trusting and obeying Almighty God,

wholeheartedly serving and worshiping Him.

This we call Christian living and the Christian life must be seen and lived in the light of God's word, which is the bible.

This and nothing else is true faith.
